Lemon began his career as theatre critic for the Austin Chronicle. His darkly comic debut play, Jesus Hates Me, had its World Premiere as the inaugural production of the Denver Center Theatre Company's New Play Summit. Lemon's work has been featured in Hartford Stage's Brand:NEW Fall Festival of Plays, Horizon Theatre Company's New South Playworks, New Haarlem Arts Theatre's Unheard Voices for the American Theater, The American National Theatre Founders' Celebration and the Alabama Shakespeare Festival's Southern Writers' Project. He has served as playwright in residence at theaters across America and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Michigan, the University of Georgia, Texas Tech University, Washington University and the University of Texas. Lemon currently lives in Los Angeles where he writes for the motion picture industry.
He remains convinced Jesus only mildly dislikes him.
